Lorilyn B. Alden formerly Claudia-Jean Virga is the creator of the CHAT Communication methodology, a communication method that creates company cultures where employees feel heard, valued, and respected.

Lorilyn grew up feeling that she wasn’t heard and that her words had no impact. After several years of studying communication, personalities, and behavior – Lorilyn felt that all those tools were great, but they took a lot of time to understand. She also thought those tools taught her much about herself, but what about understanding others? Lorilyn saw an opportunity to help people understand their communication better and other people’s communication better too.

When we create safe spaces, we can tap into creativity and problem-solving. The CHAT Communication methodology is easy to learn and immediately apply to create a company culture that thrives from effective communication.
The natural side effects of this approach are employee retention, better customer experiences, increased productivity, and profitability.

Lorilyn has facilitated over 100 employee training and presentations based on the CHAT methodology. Her ultimate mission is for the individuals from the organizations she works with to take CHAT and the other communication tools they learn home to their families, friends, and communities.

Lorilyn founded Girlz to Women, a nonprofit organization featured in Shape Magazine, Women’s First, and other national and local media outlets. She has been in front of the camera as a TV host and behind the camera as an award-winning producer. Lorilyn is a two-time TEDx speaker featured on TED.com, a TEDx Curator, and has coached TEDx speakers worldwide.

I have worked as a nonprofit leader for 20 years, and this is the first time, I have walked away from a training with the ability to immediately implement what I learned. The CHAT method has truly changed how my team communicates with each other. After only one training session with Lorilyn, I was able to see significant changes in how members of my team treat each other and watched morale improve quickly.
